I grew up in the 80s, learning about money with cash and coins. I really wonder how kids growing up where everything is just a tap of a card (or device) will understand the abstract concept of money. As for me and my kids, I would certainly want to start with old-school Monopoly with paper money. Once they fully understand that, only then would I go to the app-based digital version.

Neither the iOS or Android apps currently have in-app purchases, which is good.
They have terrible ratings, which is bad.
Even if they don't add IAP (they will lol), they're going to shove a fark ton of ads into the required-to-play app.
On top of that after 6 months when this game doesn't do big enough numbers to support having and maintaining its own app, they will decide to stop selling the product. And also delist the app. People who have bought the board game in the past need to buy a new copy of Monopoly to play again. (look at the price chart for this game, it's already cooked)
Don't buy this.

Played this over the holiday with family. Awful game honestly. It's a clever idea scanning QR codes to pay each other, but the game just ends after so many rounds giving us no chance to strategize and bankrupt each other. And there's no settings to change it.
The "mini-games" are also not fun at all, and I'd rather just be able to own the railways.
Guarantee they will pull this from the App Store at some point and you won't be able to play your game anymore.
What we did instead was pull out regular monopoly and use one of the "game banking" apps to make life easier. Toy Banker is a good one, it even lets you assign nfc cards to each person.
I guess it's cool they make this available as an option, but needing an app to play a board game is not progress. Good deal for what this is, but I'd never buy this. Not that my opinion matters to anyone but me.
