Started golf 3 years ago. Bought a strata set. Not worth it. Go grab a Maltby set at golfworks.com for a similar price but 2-3x the quality and performance. I've been so happy with mine.

Depends on your budget and handicap but you really can't go wrong with any of them.

I personally have the KE4 max for player improvement clubs and I love them.
My 1 handicap buddy has the TS4s.

Bought this set 2 years ago and still playing it. Local Pros tried and said the irons, wedges, putter are playable especially for beginners. The driver is terrible. The wood and hybrid is okay. If money not an issue, I think Stix has better offer and better clubs (Costco sell them every now and then). Knowing what I know now, I would get the Stix or Calloway Edge. The Strata has zero resell values. Do a little research on resell market as well so if you do spend a bit more, you might be able to resell and pay less for the next upgrade.

Try your luck on some used irons/sets. You will prob get something way better at around the same price point.
If you start getting really into it, youre going to change out this set anyways

I was playing ping G's and switched to the KE4 Max's last year. They feel as good as the G425s I tried. Great super game improvement set. I think I paid $380 for a graphite 4-PW and Gap wedge. I also got their wedges and putter which I also loved.

Just started awhile back myself as a 40+ golfer, so take this with a grain of salt.
Price is fine because you won't know what you like/want for awhile anyway. For instance, what's your swing speed so which shafts work best for you? Will you prefer long irons or hybrids? What's your putting style, so would you prefer blade/mallet/whatever putter in what length? The list of questions about preference goes on. Point is you won't know until you play and, as in most sports, your equipment probably won't be your hold up until you get some technique worked out. And like someone else sort of said, if you really get into golf, you'll be changing out your first set eventually anyway.
For what it's worth, I have the Callaway Edge set. I like it a lot but have found there are things I'll change (lower bounce on my SW, more hybrids, another wedge or 2, drop 3 wood for a 5, etc) so I can also see that in another year or two (which would give me 2-3 years with it), I'll probably upgrade and likely to the maltbys posted above. Starting with them would have been doable but I wouldn't have had a clue what I wanted/needed so even if I'd started with that brand I'd likely have to replace them too with something more suited for me.
Just pick something in your price range and upgrade later when you have a better understanding of your own game...just my opinion.
