The HD 560S are open back wired headphones tuned for detailed, analytical listening, with strong directionality for PC and FPS gaming and clear vocals. They are comfortable for all day wear, easy to EQ, and can run from a PC or a small amp without much trouble. The sound leans bright and bass light, so bass lovers may want EQ, and the open back design lets in outside noise. At around this price, they stand out as a strong value for gaming and casual critical listening.

  • PC gamers who want precise positional audio, because the open-back tuning makes footsteps and direction easy to hear.

  • Listeners who prefer an analytical sound for production work, because the tuning is described as more suited to audio production than everyday listening.

  • All-day desktop listeners who value comfort, because the lightweight fit is described as comfortable enough for extended wear.

  • People who want easy-to-drive headphones, because they can run from a PC or small amp without much power.

  • Bass-first listeners who want a warm, heavy low end, because the sound is described as dry and bass-light unless EQ is adjusted.

  • Buyers who need a reliable open-box unit immediately, because some units arrived dead or were promptly cancelled.

  • People in noisy rooms who need isolation, because the open-back design lets outside sound in.

  • Shoppers expecting a plug-and-play microphone setup, because the 2.5mm locking jack makes compatible mic adapters hard to find.

If you are playing fps game like BF6 and want to hear enemy footsteps and direction it's coming, this is the headset. Holy cow it is so much better than my steel series. Mind that this is open back, so if you are in noisy environment, u will hear outside.

How do these compare to the Philips SHP9600? I just snagged the latter for $30 on marketplace
I have the SHP9500 and have listened to the SHP9600. These are VERY similar headphones. The Senns have a touch more base and are slightly warmer - but you really have to listen for it to notice. And I don't think that the bass is emphasized more, it's just that the range is a bit bigger. I did a comparison listen one evening and it was really hard to tell which I preferred. I LOVE my SHP9500 and still keep them for gaming. But I now use these Senns (albeit in tan) everyday, because they are more comfortable for all day wear. I have a mic plugged in for work.
One annoying thing about Sennheisers is that they use a non-standard jack - it is 2.5mm I think instead of the more standard 3mm. And even worse, they have a "locking" mechanism on the plug - it's just a groove on the plastic part of that jack that you have to twist when you plug it in. This means its very hard to find a mic that will just plug in to the headset without an adapter. In fact, I have only been able to find one adapter - and I have looked very hard.
I really love the sound of these headphones though, and overall this mic/jack thing is minor.
As for the SHP9500 (and possibly the 9600) - you can make the sound warmer in those by changing out the ear pads to velour ones - I did that when my original pads wore out (yes, I wore them that much!) and now they are super comfy and have a nicer sound, too! IMHO, These two headphones (the Philips SHP9500 and these Senss), when they are priced around $80, are some of the best headphone bargains there are.

Adding another data point for others - I could just place an order for an excellent one shipped for $70.

I could not checkout like others shared above in past few days but it went through today, hopefully it won't get cancelled.

Like some others it just let me order and then instantly cancelled. I think unless its available for store pickup its not going to happen. I got real excited for about 45 seconds.
