The HD 560S are open back wired headphones tuned for detailed, analytical listening, with strong directionality for PC and FPS gaming and clear vocals. They are comfortable for all day wear, easy to EQ, and can run from a PC or a small amp without much trouble. The sound leans bright and bass light, so bass lovers may want EQ, and the open back design lets in outside noise. At around this price, they stand out as a strong value for gaming and casual critical listening.
Common Questions (5)
At around $75, several comments treat it as a strong bargain for a comfortable, durable headphone with easy EQ and good gaming performance. A few open-box orders were also reported as cancelled or dead on arrival, so condition and fulfillment are the main risks.
It is generally described as brighter and less veiled than the HD6XX, with a sound that is very similar to the SHP9500/9600 but a touch warmer and with a bit more bass. Compared with the K702, it is closer in presentation and is often favored for analytical listening.
It is often treated as an analytical headphone with a neutral-leaning tuning, but one comment says it is better suited to audio production than everyday listening while another says it is too bass-light and rolled off in the highs for production work. For casual listening, EQ can help if you want more bass.
It can run directly from a PC without an amp. Some users still pair it with a small amp or DAC/amp for extra headroom, but it is not required for basic use.
Yes. The open-back design gives strong directionality and makes enemy footsteps and positional cues easy to hear in FPS games, but outside noise will also come through.

Thanks, I wonder if the Douk Audio U10 might be a good cheap option to dip my toes into tube amps. I know it's cheap.
The T20s have a high noise floor as is, and I had to change tubes. Was too bright and noisy for the AKGs. AKGs expose components due to the low impedance. So on the 35 I paid I got some GE tubes for 30. Over 70 bucks for what you could achieve in 10. I think that's totally worth it. Try it out, you're gonna really like messing with the different bulb types to change the sound profile.
Being cheap is what we are here for, no shame in that. It's what are you doing with your money and how effectively you are achieving your goals with what you have. No sense in using a sledge hammer to pound a nail.
