how is this one compared to Nizoral? I have been using Nizoral for may be 15 years and not had any problems. It's just that I need to use Nizoral more frequently these days.

Nizoral active ingredient is Ketoconazole 1%. Actually, you can get Ketoconazole 2% shampoo but it requires Rx from doctor. I do not think this Neutrogena shampoo would help you but you would have to consult a physician to know for sure.

They really serve different purposes. Nizoral is used to treat underlying skin fungus that is hypothesized to cause seborrheic dermatitis. The salicylic acid helps to soften and rid the plaques (scabs) associated with the condition. I use both depending on the needs.

Stick with Nizoral. It is common to have more issues in winter, especially with lower humidity in the air.

No coupon for me but I too recently switched from tsal to the target house brand up and up with the SAME active ingredient 3% salicylic acid and it's been fine for my family.
