You can apply Amazon digital credits to save even more (YMMV). However it only applies to the "normal" listing; NOT the GC offer.

TT strongly pushes Premier and Home & Business but the fact is that TT Deluxe can handle every situation that these more expensive versions can. The only exception that I am aware of is the ability to create W2 and 1099 forms for employees in H&B.
Deluxe has everything for all investment types, everything for owners of rental properties, everything for self-employed (1099-NEC/Schedule C filers), everything for those who do itemized deductions.
The higher versions offer more guidance but Deluxe has all the forms required and will still walk you through all of it.
Note that Turbotax Online is completely different, Deluxe Online is purposely limited forcing more complex returns to use the more expenisve Online versions than Deluxe.

This deal post is to trigger people's alerts that the TurboTax deal with the $10 gift card is now live. There is a post from 1/1 that has this same deal, but since it was posted over two weeks ago, it will not trigger people's alerts. Hopefully, this post will help others if they've forgotten to check on 1/19.
Deluxe download handles ALL investment accounts/types, even K-1 partnerships
Both Deluxe and Premier have the same ability to directly download 1099-B (incl 1099-INT and 1099-DIV) data from most financial institutions so you don't have to do any data entry.
THIS WON'T INSTALL ON WINDOWS 10!!! -- Even with the ESU support.
My computer has the ESU and I haven't attempted the workaround. Guess it's my year to try freetaxUSA.

Premier basically gives you the option to view additional help topics during the interview process.
ETA: Its actually genius marketing, a lot of folks want to believe their tax returns are too complex for the basic version of TT (deluxe) so they willingly pay more for "Premier" because they think they need it and their brokerage accounts or self-employment income means they need to step up to the next level.
Anyway its only an extra $20 bucks, people certainly waste a lot more money on other things - if it makes you feel special then by all means, pay for the Premier version.

"TurboTax Premier supports CSV file imports for cryptocurrency transactions, primarily in the Online version, allowing users to upload CSV files from major exchanges. However, the TurboTax Desktop (CD/Download) Premier version does not directly import CSV files for general investments; it requires .txf files, direct broker import, or manual/summarized entry. "
"Yes, the TurboTax Deluxe desktop (CD/Download) version can import investment data via .txf (Tax Exchange Format) files. This allows users to import stock transactions and other investment income from brokerages or software like Quicken. The feature is accessed via File > Import > From Accounting Software"
If you are referring to Premier online then that is a completely different product/offering and not related to what this SD thread is about.
