I had some like that. Wash with a thick layer of dishwashing soap. I lathered some dishwashing liquid on my hand and washed them thoroughly twice. No petrol type smell . You're welcome.

paid $37 shipped for the CAP 20lb dumbell set back in february and they've gotten super easy to lift it only makes sense for me to splurge on these 25lbers now. great prices for me on both purchases it seems.

Thanks OP. Was looking for some 25s and this was good enough for me to bite. It's about the same price floor as I see on local used listings, so it saves me from having to smile at someone in person.
