Taiwan is a lovely place to visit. it has a lot of beautiful nature, easy for English speakers to get around. Even Police are friendly and helpful. great food choices, night markets abound. Tapei is very metropolitan if you want to explore city life and shopping.

Depends on what time you arrive but it's about 45 minutes via taxi or 40 via train to downtown. Metro is easy and accessible there. If it's daytime go to Taipei 101. If it's closer to nighttime go to one of the night markets.

Very much like going to Japan, only less expensive and more people speak English.

The only thing missing for me was a 1st class roller coaster park.

Starlux is an awesome airline. Just used them to go from Cali to Taiwan then Taiwan to Japan then back to Cali

Yep. Small world my neighborhood hates TSMC b/c of them encroaching too close to our preserves. PHX approved it all with the kickbacks I'm sure. Also Peoria will put in an airport for them! Wow

That is nothing compared to the Light Rail boondoggle in Phoenix where developers payoff and control city government officials as well as the mayor & council. Lots of money stolen and county & state transportation officials become rich as well. Peoria, get ready because they will use the same embezzlement blueprint.
