It's nuts that Apple ended support on a watch from 5 years ago. Watches last a long farking time and there is very little need to upgrade them for 90% of users.

Strongly agree. I had an Apple Watch 4 and I managed to drop it and shatter the face. Then my son who wanted to upgrade gave me his Apple Watch 8. I somehow managed to drop that as well and shattered the back. He didn't have any other watches to give me lol so I went out and bought an Apple Watch 11. To be completely honest, I don't see a huge difference between the Apple Watch 4 and the Apple Watch 11. So I agree, there really is little to no reason to upgrade that often.

You can find AWU 2s on eBay or swappa as low as $390. This is an okay deal.

How much longer will apple support this model? My aw6 stopped receiving support last year (2025), and this model came out with the 8.

This is basically why I went from the AW4 to AW6. If I didn't break my AW4 during a trail running fall, I'd still have it. Still have my 6 though.

I switched to a garmin after mine lost support, my aw survived some beatings but i paid for the premium titanium version. Which again why am i pay so much for obsolescence?

Apple changes the actual CPU every 3 years on watches. This has the same CPU as series 6-8. It uses the A13 ecores in the iphone 11. Series 9-11 and ultra 2/3 use A15 cores so it's better to go for those. The next year will be a new CPU.

Your 6 prob needs to be fully wiped first to update as it doesn't have enough storage for the update.

I buy used apple watch SEs with LTE used on Facebook Marketplace for $100.

I do like my apple watch ultra a lot more though.
