has anyone purchased from this ebay store before? I read the listing but can't tell if this is refurbished by Samsung or by the seller's shop itself.

It's refurbished, not manufacturer refurbished.

Also I would not buy any smart watches which need to recharge every day or two, or have to get a separate ring to keep track of the vitals.

You absolutely do but need a ring to keep track of vitals. This does it all on the watch, the ring doesn't add anything this isn't already doing.
