They are quality items, I wouldn't say "the best" . This is a good deal, for basic yoga poses and for standing poses, not thick so you'll likely want to use a blanket for your knees

They're a brand I trust for mats and yoga blocks.

I've had great one-off experiences with other branded mats over the years- I'm retiring my beloved mat that I bought at Aldi several years ago and sadly, Crane never made that exact mat again. I was gifted a Solana brand mat over the holidays and will be trying that one soon.
And I have the mat that I posted on standby Smilie (If the new mat is quality, this one will be my travel mat as it's more compact).

mats are very subjective, especially taking the different practices and bodies into consideration. I love my manduka (pro), but some people find them too slippery (I don't practice hot yoga, so that might be why.) other "top" brands, from my conversations with people, are liforme, jade, lululemon. I think my instructor uses a jade mat.

anyone genuinely interested who is reading this: I would buy something cheaper, like this, and then decide if you need a thicker mat, stickier, lighter weight, less common size (longer/wider, etc), and actually figure out if yoga is something you'll stick with. I thought I needed a thicker mat for the cushioning, at first, but I soon realized I preferred a thinner mat for easier balancing.

also, someone mentioned using a blanket (or towel) for more cushioning, but another option, if you don't mind, is to fold a mat over onto itself.

I bought one of these the last time, and I'd definitely by again at this price. Only thing to know is there was a bit of initial offgassing, but I put the mat in my closet for a couple days and it's been a welcome addition to my workout gear. Almost considering buying another one at this price.

I have this, it's decent, but not as thick/cushiony as my other Gaiam mat.

The slippery thing on Maduka happens as a result of the manufacturing process. Once the top layer has worn a bit this goes away. This is the best mat that exists after the break in period. Their rubber mats are expensive and come with a lifetime warranty.
This mat listed here is a decent cheap brand. PVC is cheap and sticky, but this is a thin mat - it would hurt my knees.
This cost is about what shipping is for a product like this. I have no idea how they make any money...

I'm coming to this post more than a month after purchase. The "2-3days" of off-gassing is horrendous! It certainly does not smell, "harmless." Stymied about the "healthier choice" declaration. Be warned.
