I have this router, so far its been great. I get around 960~1100mbps downloads from my AT&T 1gb fiber to my iPhone 17 Pro Max and around 870-980mbps to my Pixel 10 Pro

Netgear can make some seriously janky routers, but given what you're saying, it looks like they made a good one this time.
Just be careful with this, it's $100/year if you subscribe

I also don't think there is any 3rd party firmware available for this, if this matters to you

my experience was not the same.. I have the nighthawk 7800 x4s for probably 10 years... I subscribe to 1 gig service. In my house at the furthest point from my router I get 375 - 400 mbps.. I figured it was time to upgrade to the triband and improve the signal strength so I purchased this 9300. At my furthest point the signal was a mere 85 - 105 mbps.. NO where near the 400 mbps I get from my old equipment.. Packed it up and sent it back.

I think I also should make a point that I live in the 1000sqft apartment which means that I can leverage wifi 7 MLO everywhere. I can see your point that this might have weaker coverage for longer distances

...and to your point.. to be completely transparent, I didn't spend more than 15 minutes on it and did not give it a 2nd chance... I was so frustrated at the installation process (may have been my fault) that once I finally got it connected , I immediately preformed that distance test and was so disappointed at the first result I said, "oh heck no, not for 300" ..
Honestly when it first launched it dropped internet and was buggy, but after the latest update released in October 2025 it seems to have become a lot more stable. Make sure after it updates to give it a quick factory reset which may have been key to getting it to work almost bug free.
I bought mine renewed from Amazon and it works just as good as a new one.
