Unless you are preloading the powder to mix later, I have found putting the water in first then the powder prevents this problem.

You can often find these at TJ Maxx and Marshall's for less.

i bet the metal ball creates microplastics bashing around the inside of the bottle when you shake it

Not a deal. Just search "blender bottle" and find several that are cheaper. Here's a 2-pack for a not much more:

Tbh the rounded bottom on the v2 blender bottle is worth the extra $ just in the amount i've saved in protein powder not getting caked in the corners

Yeah I have like 5 of apparently the "v1" that I use almost daily and never have caked powder. But I do always add liquid first. Otherwise the markings on the bottle wouldn't be accurate anyway.

I know it's 3 times the price but if you can afford it, I got the Helimix and it does better than my blender bottle and doesn't even have the ball https://www.amazon.com/YETI-Blend...TKC6S?th=1

Definitely worth wishlisting if you don't want to spend $25, it looked like it was a little cheaper on walmart or other sites with coupons/cash back options

I've never had a problem with V1 either if you add water first. Also they do honor their warranty -- I've gotten at least two replacement lids over the years after they cracked near the threads.

I tried the Pro model back in August, and I'd say it's worth the extra $8 since the polished plastic is so much easier to clean than the textured plastic of the Classic. But at least this one has the rounded bottom: for the powders I use, that essentially eliminates the need for the ball. I'll never buy another shaker bottle with edges at the bottom.

Fair. I never measure the amount of water though. Just how much protein I put in. 😂

I literally got the cheapest pack I could find. I don't use the metal mixer ball thing https://a.co/d/4eVpfNk

I've gotten in the habit of swirling the cup while I pour in the powder so it doesn't go in as one big clump. Never had an issue.

That said, if you are throwing powder in to put in your bag and mix later, I can see the desire for a better designed bottle. I work out at home so I don't ever travel with the protein powder.

Only issue with the pack I got is they are on the small side, so for thicker proteins like casein, if you do ~40g+, it's like a milkshake. Might grab a pack of their taller ones for that. https://a.co/d/6RQMgbE

I do stow bottles during workouts and usually add water after powder/ice, and the rounded bottom is basically a nice catch-all. I also don't use the metal ball because no matter what powder or order I use, if I swirl the contents for a few seconds before shaking up and down for another few seconds, it mixes completely.

My previous bottle was basically the same except having corners in the bottom, and while it was never a huge issue, there would be a thin strip of powder in the corners probably once every five times I used it. Easy enough to wash out after use, but that's just not a thing with the rounded bottom.

I won't say BlenderBottle is objectively better than any other brand, it's just earned my trust after never leaking/breaking for 20+ years of use across a few models. I do prefer only having one bottle because that forces me to clean it before my next workout (usually the next day), so I don't mind spending a bit more on it.
