I got these and installed them a couple years ago. Have worked perfectly for us, in So Cal; lots of rain these past few weeks, no issues here.

Maybe you got a bad one. In any case I would recommend all to try them out prior to hanging them and keep them active for a few days. Ensure they are only stuck under the soffit 3"-4" away from the wall.

Do these support offline controls or third part controlling w/o cloud access of some sort? I've already got home automation setup and would like it if these lights could be controlled by it too.

The standard you're looking for is Matter, and no, I don't see that mentioned anywhere.
