I've seen these alot. Are they worth it? Apple & Samsung are so costly
Depends on your needs. For basic health tracking and interfacing with your phone (e.g. notifications, answering/making calls), they're just fine. AmazFit has great reviews. Where Apple and Samsung excel is their advanced sensors and extensive ecosystem. The Samsung, for example, can perform EGG, BIA and Antioxidant levels. And their app stores are much larger than what's available for AmazFit. But if you don't need those, this is a great alternative for a low price.
How accurate is this compared to the more expensive brands (like Garmin and Pixel Watch)? Or maybe the question should be, which readings on here are fairly accurate, and which are not so accurate?

I think it depends on what you are doing and where.
The Active series only has a single band GPS unit (balance and Trex are multi band)
In normal neighborhood type runs I've had no issues with accuracy, but it tends to cut corners on trails, canyons, and the few times I've been in big cities with the device
That said, I think only mid level Garmin devices have multi band too so they may face similar issues.
From an HR perspective, I don't find my Active 2 to be any better or worse than my Garmin devices. As usual, it depends on your skin pigment and temperature. I usually wear a separate HR band if I actually care about tracking it during a workout since all wrist based sensors are a crapshoot for me personally.
As others have said, for the price it's a great watch. There's some quirks on the software side that they have been slowly fixing since I got mine last spring and they finally released their biocharge feature to the watch within the last month which is similar to Garmins body battery feature.
I think amazfit is on the right track. For this price (or $110 for the premium with sapphire glass) it definitely punches above its weight. I tried out the balance 2 for a bit but there seemed to be a bug or something wrong with my device that the wake up alarms didn't work as they should so I went back to Garmin. But all other things were very comparable in my opinion
I had the Garmin Instinct 2 and the premium Active 2. I ended up selling my Garmin and keeping the Active 2. It's extremely light, looks nice, and a ton of bang for the buck.

I just picked up a amazbit bip 5 core at wally world on clearance, its less premium. What to expect? It works, don't trust the sensors to be accurate. The watch is full of junky little apps. You have to pay for most of the wallpapers. They have free ones but they are limited and just dumb (chinese writing etc).
I am going to return the one I got. The sensors aren't accurate but if just need a smart watch, ask yourself what is the most important part you need. I needed a timer for sports and alarms. The one I got has that but the zapp os app is just subpar and its a bit heavy for my wrist. I got the core one for $28 bucks.
None of these knock off watches will have accurate sensors. This is my 4th attempt at one of the Chinese ones. Look at the amazon mid and low reviews, they are mostly on point.
Here is a comparison vid of the watches that goes over features.
I got the Active 2 (not this Sport model) on eBay for like $40 last month. Obviously it's not as advanced as an Apple Watch, but the screen is extremely crisp, it feels premium, and it does what it sets out to do well. If you just want to tell the time with some good fitness capabilities and notification-forwarding, look no further.
If you want a smartphone on your wrist (as someone else elegantly said), an Apple Watch might be a better fit, since you can get an SE 2 for $115-130 depending on condition.

You're lucky if an Apple or Samsung gives you a full day of battery life. Amazfit gives you a week or more of battery life, which is a big deal to me. Amazfit doesn't run the same kinds of apps as Apple or Samsung, but the fitness tracker is great for recreational athletes and you do get notifications and some other smartphone connectivity on the watch. If I want to call Uber or check the weather forecast, opening the apps on my phone instead of on my watch is easy enough.
