These hanger hooks are meant to stack clothes vertically and keep outfits together, which can help in smaller closets or when organizing shirts and pants for kids or travel. The main appeal is tidier grouping, but the space savings sound modest and the setup can make it harder to find specific items or put laundry away. Stacking too many hangers can also stress the top hook, and tightly packed closets may cause items to slip. A practical niche tool if the closet layout fits.

Common Questions (4)

  • It can save only a small amount of space, and the before/after photos can be misleading because the spacer itself takes up room between hangers. In tight closets, the gain may be minimal enough that it is not worth the tradeoff.

  • They can fail if the hangers are flimsy or if too many are linked together, with the top hook snapping at the neck or items falling when the stack gets heavy. Sturdy hangers are important, especially when closets are tightly packed.

  • They make more sense for keeping full outfits together, such as shirts and pants, or for kids' clothes. For ordinary closet organization, they can make it harder to find items and slower to put laundry away.

  • Standard plastic hangers may work, but they need to be sturdy enough to handle the extra load. Thin or weak hangers can snap at the neck when several items are stacked.

Make sure you have good hangers or the one on the top will snap at the neck from the weight of multiple items.

Will standard plastic do? I don't think I'd try it with those 'velvet' ones.

I use soda/beer can rings -- I've stacked hangers 4 deep with it and it's functionally the same as these.

Or you can buy 18 for $4.40 so you don't have trash in your closet.

I don't think so, at least for most people's closets unless you're organizing entire outfits to hang together to keep shirts+pants together, but for just normal clothes organizing, it doesn't seem worth.
From reviews, the space savings seem super minimal and then it will also make finding something specific more difficult and putting away laundry will take longer too. So you trade a bit of space for an extra chore to do.

Without this thing, if you're looking for something, your eyes can just move in a straight line like left to right to find something. Now you have to look left to right + up and down to find what you want.
BUT, if you plan your outfits or have a kid where you want to keep specific shirts + pants together, this might be a valid purchase.

In for one. Moved to a new place with smaller closet. Looks like it'll help until I decided which clothes to get rid of

I bought some of the generic brand that was cheaper than these on Amazon. The problem arises when you link about 5 of them together and you need the middle one in the 'stack.' Stuff starts falling down especially if the clothes are packed tightly in your closet like my shirts are. I stopped using them.

So the clothes hang down to the floor now? Doesn't make sense... And why do you need so much clothes?

how low is the bar in your closet? how does this product indicate how much clothing you have and not say the horizontal space you have?

Got these (similar concept) last year and they really don't actually save space. At least not much.

I don't think there is a single closet in my house where I don't also use the space below the clothes I hang, so this would be pretty useless for those applications.
