The gotcha with the Neo 2 is: the minute the pilot wants to advance past gesture and/or phone-only (controller-less) - or increase beyond Wifi range - the price of its "digital transceiver" will limit the deals to the combo packs, especially if wanting to start with DJI motion/FPV ecosystem.
An example of value application in a Neo 1, is the Motion Combo, which was a good DJI FPV starter bundle for $400 (now $450+), since the Goggle N3 standalone pricing is near $300 (was $200). With that combo, the Neo 1 is a good enough disposable-FPV to learn quasi manual flight mode, but can always switch to auto mode (altitude hold, etc). Then can leverage the Goggles N3 to fly true FPV with (un-obtainable) DJI 04 lite/pro air units.
But, yeah, for way nicer/usable video, gesturing to config some casual follow-me footage, it's Neo 2 by far.
