Switch 2 pro controllers don't seem worth it at this price point. Was different for the original switch when it was the only good option for a long time. Plenty of good options now. 8bitdo, anbernic, even powera.

What I can anecdotally say, though, is that the Switch 2 feels like a huge step up from the original Switch Pro controller. Sticks are smoother, it's more comfortable, and I like the buttons more.

I have the DockEasySMX D10 and it's way better than this pro controller. Hall effect TMR and mechanical buttons are amazing

Switch 2 Pro controller is still using basic analog thumbsticks. $80 for analog sticks is ridiculous. They added a new base ring to make the stick movement smoother, but its still essentially the same controller as Switch 1 Pro controller and will eventually drift. Other companies have hall effect controllers for half this price. Some companies like 8Bitdo are already releasing new controllers with TMR sticks that are a huge improvement over hall effects... while the $80 Switch 2 Pro is still on analog sticks from 2010.

$70 gets you the new 8BitDo Ultimate 2 with charging dock and TMR sticks and hall effect triggers and tactile triggers. Better battery life, better sensitivity, no drift, mappable buttons.

There is no valid reason for spending $80 on the Pro controller with outdated analog sticks. S2 Pro controller also doesnt work on S1 OLED, which is pretty dumb.

But doesn't have the drifting issue the Pro Controller for the original Switch does?

It still has the same drift issues as the original switch.

There's definitely valid reasons. I love having official Nintendo stuff! Just not a good reason and certainly not a good use of money.

My hands hate the texture of the plastic of the grips on the S2 Pro controller. I'm sure I'm not alone.

This is the only reason to get it.

This is the everyday Sam's Club price if you have that membership. Very solid controller and worth the money if you are in the market. 8bitdo is good but I enjoy having several high quality controllers and keyboards and $80 is reasonable for the build quality and the time I will spend with the controller. That and 8bitdo gave me an AWFUL run around on a warranty on one of their keypad keyboards which has left a bad taste in my mouth.

According to the product listing and reviews, the ultimate 2 will wake the switch 2 on shake if you update the controller firmware.

Agreed. Slides out of my hands all the time. Probably won't matter for most games but results in a ton of mis-inputs for high intensity games like Smash. I wish there was a cover or alternative finish. Needs to be textured.

I love this controller. Bought an 8bitdo, which is a great value for the money, but the Bluetooth / connection doesn't go long enough (or in my case through a wall) to reach where I am sitting. The pro controller handles the range with no issues. Have 3 of them and don't regret the purchases.
