There are plates of color. Not colored.

These plates are worth the little extra, the black ones tend to have the odor.

Heads up. I was a home gym newbie and didn't realize that bumper plates mean they're all the same diameter. It's in the photos for the product listing but I mentally skipped over it. This makes different considerations for storage. Otherwise seem like decent weights.

Thanks, did not know that, I thought bumper plates just referred to them being rubberized, not necessarily that they're all the same diameter. Still probably easy to overlook for a home gym newbie.

Why would things of the same side make storage MORE difficult? Complete opposite

I ordered the black ones because they were $2 cheaper lol. Is the smell that bad?

Bumper refers to the fact that they're designed to be able to safely be bumped/dropped on the ground. Part of that is that they have rubber on the outside. Part of that is they are same diameter so when they're dropped the weight is evenly distributed between the different plates.

Plenty of storage options for them.

They are $57.95 shipped for the same black ones if you buy them separately. For 100lbs set black https://www.walmart.com/ip/Balanc...5107218039

Be sure to use and abuse these right away would be my only advice.. Purchased a few complete sets (260). A little over a year later they are all holding up great *except* when they were first delivered a single 45 developed a tear/split after just a few days. Clearly a defect and as it was within Walmart return window they took care of everything with minimal delay/friction. I don't think my experience would have been that great outside of the return window....

Just throwing it out there as I know some folks will buy these when they are on sale with intent to use them later/when they buy a rack and just let them sit in the garage. My experience is anecdotal of course and I don't regret buying them, but I don't think they get the same quality control that some of the other more expensive brands do. So open them up right away, throw them on a bar, and just give them some typical use (drop them from shoulder height a few times, let them bounce around, etc.) Again nothing that these things aren't designed to experience without issue. We had six 45's and one of them developed that fissure almost immediately (likely there from the factory but didn't emerge and split until the plate got a little action).

That being said they punch above their weight at this price especially if you want color coded plates. I wouldn't put them in a commercial gym or crossfit box but for a hotel or workplace gym they definitely are "good enough" and more than that for your typical home user..

Also unlike the black ones, only the slightest (and expected) smell that was gone within a week without any additional cleaning or wiping down, just that residual factory smell.

I bought the 35lb pair and separately the 10lb pair both in black bumper form, when they went on sale - on quality, they're plenty good enough for my needs and very tempted to go for this set too. With my free shipping via the Walmart+ app I picked up cheap in Dec, they were a great price. Wish they had a varied set of smaller weights for my younger (almost) teenage kiddos but 2.5 / 5 lbs are a bit rare as bumper plates, price is still up there it looks so will wait out on that.

When I think about the price that people were being charged & were paying during and post covid for weights (like $2 or $3 per lb), this is a heck of a deal - sure it's been cheaper but it's still a great price. Free shipping too - so you don't even need a Walmart + sub.

I kept my black ones out on the balcony for a month. Some suggest the sun locks in the flavor. yummy
