RIDGID's 18V subcompact right angle impact wrench stands out for tight brake and underhood work, especially where a standard impact or ratchet cannot fit. The compact right angle design is the main draw, and the bundle can be broken out through a hackable battery link for a lower tool price. It also fits well for those already set up with 1/2 inch sockets. The main caveat is that the original bundle link is not hackable, so the workaround depends on using the right listing.
DIY mechanics working in tight brake areas, because a right-angle impact wrench can save hours on brake caliper brackets and pins.
Shoppers wanting a compact tool for cramped fasteners, because a right-angle impact wrench reaches places where a standard impact driver is less suitable.
The bundle itself is not hackable because it is sold as one package. A hack works only when the cart splits into separate items, such as an add-one-free-tool setup or a separate battery listing paired with the tool.
It is especially useful in tight spaces like brake work, including caliper brackets and pins, where a standard tool may not fit. The right-angle design helps reach fasteners that are awkward for a regular impact wrench or ratchet.
The tool can come out to about $137 if the battery is returned, and another listing shows the right-angle impact driver at $111 after hack. The exact price depends on which Home Depot listing and cart setup you use.
Yes, the bundle includes a free 2.0 Ah battery, but some shoppers prefer the hack route because they do not need another 2Ah battery. That makes the separate-tool workaround more appealing if you already have RIDGID batteries.

is this "hackable"? aka return battery keep tool?
Yes it is h@ckable but use this link for the battery and you can add the 1/2" right angle impact wrench or you can add some extended reach ratchets. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGI.../314033386
Not here to TC or cause problems, just here to help another SD'er. Hack police shillers are probably gonna come and thumbs down my comment here so how about some thumbs ups to show some love for the real community!

I didn't realize people were so against that here. Home Depot adjusts the price per item when bonuses are added so they clearly have a price they're willing to sell each item individually for. Nothing wrong with returning one item off a receipt and keeping the rest.

They call it "soft fraud". Other people at Home Depot aren't idiots. They've known about this for years and years and let people do it that whole time.
Apples and oranges, but I got a Kobalt one of these when Lowe's was selling kits for like $89 or whatever. Massively useful on brake caliper brackets and pins...I've used it for some other things too, but this tool took hours off a brake job on my old A5 and is worth it for that alone.

Yeah the people crapping on it think they're some kind of moral white knights when it's legally and morally not wrong to return brand-new, unused merchandise to the place it was purchased from for an agreed-upon refund. If it was wrong, HD wouldn't allow it.
Whoa. Didn't now Ridgid has a tool like this. All my power tools are Ryobi, except for the Milwaukee stubby (250 ft lbs), which I bought for tight areas like doing brakes since the Ryobi extended reach ratchet (55 ft lbs) wouldn't cut it sometimes. I may have to look into this tool if Ryobi doesn't make a similar one.

I went this route, thank you! I don't need another 2a battery.

DIY mechanics working in tight brake areas, because a right-angle impact wrench can save hours on brake caliper brackets and pins.
Drivers who already own 1/2-inch sockets, because this size is useful for jobs where a 3/8-inch impact feels too small.
Shoppers wanting a compact tool for cramped fasteners, because a right-angle impact wrench reaches places where a standard impact driver is less suitable.
People who need a more compact general-purpose driver, because an impact driver is smaller than a right-angle impact wrench and serves different uses.
Shoppers expecting the bundle to be easy to split into separate returnable items, because this setup is one package and may not be hackable.
Buyers who already have enough 2.0 Ah batteries, because this bundle includes another battery they may not need.
