Depends on your use case, but for muscle building and post-workout recovery dairy is superior in lesser volumes. For older adults you are going to get far more benefits out of whey that you would only get by consuming twice as much plant protein. You have to consume a lot more plant protein to get similar results, despite what the marketing claims.
If you're trying to boost fiber intake and at least trying to improve your protein intake, plant protein is ok, but whey protein is much more beneficial in smaller amounts.
Better deal is the OWYN Pro Elite shakes with 32g protein. I buy the 15pk at Sam's for $18. Not the best tasting shakes available, but the best ingredients and specs I can find, and very reasonably priced.
