Wired? It's better to have it.
Older versions didn't have SD card they work OK but generally having SD card will give you a regular full time camera because older cameras don't record all the time and frequently miss approaching person and does not record or notify you in time to catch the movement etc. I would not buy another doorbell camera without SD card because it gives a wired security camera.
