This DeWalt mechanics set stands out as a socket-heavy kit with a sturdy blow mold case, especially for SAE and metric work. The 6 point sockets get a lot of praise for gripping stubborn nuts, and the snug storage keeps pieces from falling out in transit. The case has four metal clasps and helps organize existing sockets and ratchets, though it is heavy and the sockets can be wedged in tightly. A few notes also flag the large SAE share and occasional ratchet oiling, making it a solid fit if you want a compact, durable mechanics kit.

  • The set includes all 6-point sockets that can grip stubborn nuts effectively.

  • The blow-mold case keeps sockets snug so they do not fall out during carrying.

  • The kit can work well as a starter mechanics set for basic jobs.

  • The socket and drive layout can feel more practical than a prior Kobalt kit.

  • The case can be difficult to use because sockets may be wedged tightly inside.

  • The ratchets may require a few drops of oil to work smoothly.

  • The set can include a large portion of SAE sockets that may feel undesirable for modern use.

  • Fulfillment can fail, with at least one delivery arriving with incorrect contents and no tools.

Great deal if you can get it. I purchased this for the same price in 2023 and have been very impressed with the set.

I bought this a few years ago as a starter set for my son. Very good quality and 6 point 1/2 inch sockets to really grab those stubborn nuts. An extreme travel set if you need one. It does weigh a ton though.

Trigger = Pulled... I had a decent Kobalt set for years.... but the sockets were all 12 point and 1/4in drive .... I managed to never lose a piece from it... not even the 10mm! The Kobalt will be retired to full time roadie kit.

The only issue with this set for me is that 68 pieces or roughly 1/3 of the set are SAE sockets, which are basically a trash in modern world

I have this set and it does the job. The case itself kind of sucks though, the sockets are really wedged in there.

Buy now think later. Awesome blowmold case with 4 metal clasps. The sockets are snug and don't fall out when carrying. It's heavy, but that's because it's mostly sockets. Not screwdriver bits. The ratchets do need a few drops if oil. That's the only negative.

I purchased a few days ago and received it last night. I have sockets and ratchets already. I purchased it because of the case. Better organized now.

Can piece together some harbor freight 3/8 and 1/2 for about same price. Nothing really special about this set. Should be normal price.

Help me out here. You had ratchets and sockets. You purchased this set that comes with ratchets and sockets and a storage case. You purchased it because of the case to store your old ratchets and sockets. What did you do with the new sockets that came with the case?
