Complete bullshit. These are studio headphones for mixing and mastering, and pretty damn good ones if you like the full open back sound. Nobody would dream of using bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones in a studio.

Wrong. If you're not trolling, please refrain from offering your opinions on audio equipment in the future.

I'm not an audiophile but I am interested in using these for watching movies and playing games. Would these be good for that? I'm currently using some Sony XM4's for that purpose.

It is open back. So everyone near you can hear what you are watching/playing.

Xm4 is a gold standard; these are not close to it.

The treble peak on these were too much for me. People mod these to tamper the sibilance on the otherwise excellent headphones with great soundstage. Check out the DT 770s if need closed cans, and the DT 880s for more balanced sound.

If you're fine with these being open back offering basically no sound isolation, then yes they're pretty good.
If you enjoy the XM4 sound profile, it may take some time getting used to how these sound though.

They are like... pocket knife vs a saw. Have you even used any of them?

Compared to the Xm4's, you should notice immediately more clarity and way better sound. I say should because obviously everyone has their preferences and if you are on Windows you want to make sure you have certain audio settings turned off that are automatically on like some affects and stuff that may ruin the clarity for you. But it should be a big difference for you, less bass is one thing though to be aware of, but not in a bad way.

I've had the original DT 990s for several years now, really enjoy them. The only things I could ever knock them on is that the high-frequency response can be a tad harsh at times (as with other Beyerdynamic headphones), and the clamping force is noticeably stronger than other over-ears I've tried (the ear cups themselves are very comfortable though). So those two combined can be tiring for longer sessions. But the larger soundstage and clarity is fantastic, I use these for work, general media, plugging into my keyboard / guitar amps, gaming.
