For the amount of space it takes up just spend a little more and get a 65w one. It'll cost more but it'll be cover your bases more for the same size.

Took one of these to Asia, worked fine.

Pair it up with a small 3-to-1 tap (like the Dollar Tree ones) and you can plug all sorts of 100-240V adapters to it too.

I love these. Used since they first came out many years ago and upgraded them as new and higher W models come out from various brands. Probably used them in nearly 50 countries. I would NOT recommend one that is low W output when there are 70W or better available on eBay for $15-20. You don't want to take more than 1 with you and you'll be charging multiple devices at the same time when traveling, oftentimes after coming back to the hotel for a break and need to recharge quickly.

Agree with getting a 65W one. Mine chargers my MacBook plus phone and other things.

There's loads of them. I have this one which is more expensive but have used twice for international travel. I would wait for sale on one.

This was $9.49 when I bought it and works fine https://www.amazon.com/gp/your-ac...63-8334607
Bought this at current price but it came with a free retractable cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FCSDD9H3?th=1

Unfortunately, the poster included a link not to the product itself, but to his own order details on Amazon. Earlier today I watched an international travel video on YT and the 65W one they recommended was the Epicka Pulse Duo, which you should see as one of the items in the poster's last link.

The Anker version costs twice as much but it's close to third of the size. Also 20W.

Spend a little more for a 65w or more. 20w won't charge your laptop. I have an $8 65w I take with me when I'm traveling overseas

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FCSDD9H3?th=1 <-- this is the one to get if you are gonna get one. Baseus is a (chinese) name brand too. Works really well. Funny enough, the built in cable doesnt do Super fast charging 2.0 on my samsung, but a separate usb-c cabled plugged into it will.

Can they be used to power laptops (not just charge) while they're on? Or just for charging while not in use?

I just ordered the 45W model instead. It has GaN charging so it is a better deal at $15.99. I received it yesterday. I let my HP Elitebook 840 G8 drain all the way and charged to 90% in under one hour, which is pretty impressive for the price point of this charger. It got slightly warm but I have seen more expensive chargers get much hotter so it performed better than I expected.
