I haven't seen Centon branded stuff in a while. I remember buying DRAM and thumb drives from them back when Circuit City was still around.

My opinion is when it comes to SSD, stick with a brand that has been making them for awhile. Samsung and Crucial are the top of my list. Maybe WD.

What your takes on this tho? I mean this should not be a knock off WXYZ capitalized brand found in Amazon, no?

I know them from seeing their RAM modules in Dell laptops in the late '00s. I don't know if they're still a Dell supplier but they're certainly not a fly-by-night random letters Amazon brand.

Micron is shutting down Crucial and will no longer sell to the consumer market. I've also seen some counterfeit WD SSD drives around, so be wary where you purchase from and check authenticity with an app.
That said, I'm in for one of these as I don't think we'll see prices again like this for a while. Amazon almost wants this much for a Teamgroup, PNY or a Silicon Power 512GB SATA SSD now which are probably pretty similar tech....DRAM-less SSD drives with Phison controllers.

Assume these will be QLC Dramless. Price is good given the market conditions.

I warn you guys, there will be a huge YMMV on this and the sd effect will will ruin this deal for the whole day for any one who clicked after the post..

OD/OM after a month+ sent me a cancelation note on that 32gb ddr4 sodim deal from a month or so ago. Same kind of a deal. A vender has it listed at the od/om site, but at this point wont have any left. They were just lazy on removing it from the site.

This will surely end the same way since they do not have it in stores. They will hold your money for a month and cancel your order with a "vender" out of stock notice. You have a better chance on a Walmart clearance deal. They do not actually have it at a OD/OM facility.

Memory shortage has all these forgotten brands coming out of the woodwork like backalley trenchcoat sales

You should probably stay up to date on tech news before you make product suggestions; no one should be recommending Crucial products when the whole division is being shut down.

So, plenty of time for a cancellation email.
