Millions of people on SSRIs take dextromethorphan-containing cough medicines without problems.

Dextromethorphan (the cough suppressant in that formula) can theoretically cause serotonin syndrome when combined with SSRIs, but this is quite rare at normal doses. At the recommended dose (10mg of dextromethorphan in this formula), the risk is very low for most people on SSRIs.

Check with your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you're on a higher SSRI dose or multiple medications that affect serotonin. Don't listen to us randos on Slickdeals.

Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed) is more effective than this crap. Better off taking Sudafed with Tylenol and any good antihistamine.

Not true. Most OTC medicines, which this is, are not age-verified. Even this product seems to be age-verified for some but not others. Probably based on location.

Pseudoephedrine is more effective than phenylephrine as a decongestant. The product contains guaifenesin (an expectorant to thin mucus) and dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant). An antihistamine dries things up and can help with allergic symptoms or runny nose, but won't help you cough up mucus or suppress coughing.

If you ONLY need decongestant relief, pseudoephedrine works better than phenylephrine. But whether you need the other ingredients (guaifenesin for mucus, dextromethorphan for cough suppression) depends on your specific symptoms. Your blanket suggestion of antihistamine + Sudafed + Tylenol might work for some cold symptoms, but it's not equivalent to the product formula and could make a productive cough worse by drying everything out.

I've never had to provide age verification to buy Nyquil or Dayquil, which this appears to be a generic/knockoff of.

Yeah, the 12oz is a better price, $.42/oz vs $.49/oz. It should be the deal in the OP.
That said, it's not a huge difference. You only overpaid $.56 for the 8oz.
