I had stumbled on this while browsing BB for open box laptops. Immediately bought it ($365 for open box excellent), then came to see if it had been posted. I had been eyeing this beast (https://www.bestbuy.com/product/a...ku/6615729) and I love Zenbooks, but I am not sure I could justify paying 2x the price ($800 open box).

edit: Went to buy a second one for my parents, but it looks like the open box price went up by $75 in the span of a few minutes. RIP

Yes, that happens with open box pricing during the initial "sale" phase. If you see the low low price, it typically only lasts for about 30 mins and then goes back up. But it may come down again later on; no guarantees.

I was able to snag the Ryzen AI 7 variant of this laptop for $395 (open box excellent) last month. Luckily this one was in the stated condition. The condition on these laptops are always dependent on the store and which geek squad personal worked on them.

Even if you get an as expected condition laptop from a certain store, don't expect similar results all the time. When I picked up the Ryzen AI 7 variant from the store, I also had another excellent condition laptop to pick up as well. That one was not in the stated condition. Had scuff marks and missing network driver.

In addition, several months back had purchased another excellent condition laptop from this same store. That laptop had a defective fan off the bat.

Grabbed an 16" model open box fair without charger at $275 before Christmas. BB guy said fair means no charger but the laptop itself is like new.

Don't feel too bad. There are going to be some amazing laptops next year with the Intel panther lake processors that are much better than these. If you don't absolutely need one now, I would wait.
