This M18 2 gallon cordless wet dry vacuum is praised as a strong, handy shop vac and the hack price makes it especially attractive. It works well with larger 8Ah and 12Ah Forge batteries, and the included vacuum gets called an awesome everyday tool. The main tradeoff is battery hunger, since smaller packs can feel weak and runtime drops fast. The attachments are also an odd size, so it is a solid pick if you already have the right batteries.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. The unwanted half of the hack deal can be returned to Home Depot, and the usual question is simply why you are returning it. Saying you do not need it has been enough, and the return is typically processed without issue.

  • Yes, if the hack works it is a great deal for a vacuum that is described as awesome and used regularly. The main caveat is that the deal depends on the Home Depot hack working, which can be YMMV.

  • Yes. It can eat batteries quickly, and performance is noticeably better with larger packs like 8Ah and 12Ah Forge batteries. A 6Ah High Output battery can still feel weak, so battery choice matters for runtime and suction.

  • The Milwaukee wet vac is described as great, while the DeWalt wet vac is described as pretty bad. That makes the Milwaukee a better pick if you are choosing between the two platforms, especially if you already want an M18 tool.

  • It can happen. One reported outcome after several Milwaukee tool hacks was a Home Depot account ban and loss of receipts, so repeated hack purchases may carry account risk.

I appreciate the clear conditions of the deal, how to obtain, the risks. Man, I've been wanting this for years. But unfortunately I purchased a portable Rigid vac on a slick deal last year.

I did a few Milwaukee tools hack last year, HD banned my account and I loss all my receipts as well.
Having the receipts in one place is convenient, but if you didn't delete them, you should still have a valid purchase receipt in your email for online orders.

This vacuum works well with the 8ah and 12ah Forge batteries. With the 6ah High Output it was still kind of weak. Also the attachments are an off size

I'm laying off the hacks from now on. Was good while it lasted but recently they were very insistent on having to return both items.

Did you do the return or the non pick up option? And was it the store or the website that banned you? And did it just lock your account or what exactly can't you do?

1. I returned to the store.
2. Website banned me. I can still shop in their stores.
3. They deleted my account and I can't log on anymore.

Deleted? That sucks. Can you create a new account with the same email or maybe just a new email?

Just want to add my experience with Home Depot hacks. I have done many of them and ALL of them have worked. I typically have both items delivered and then return the item I don't want as opposed to the not picking up the item I don't want.
Did you have any issues by not picking up the item you didn't want?I've done this in the past for Amazon and I just didn't pick up.

I've only had them delivered so I can't speak to any issues with not picking up the unwanted item at Home Depot.
