Some great deals. That J Mascis JM is a steal at that price. That guitar punches WAY above its weight.

Am I right to assume that it's probably pretty similar to the classic vibe? I have one of the Daphne blue ones from musicians friend.

I clicked on this thinking, it'll probably be some signature models that are way overpriced at retail. No, there's a bunch of great deals in here, especially because most Squier CVs are selling for $300 used anyways. I might be in for a J Mascis as u/breaktheground mentioned, but the Squier CVs in there are great colors too.

EDIT: In for a JM. Thanks for posting!

They're pretty different- the trem is moved up to increase the break angle, which makes it more stable but cuts down on the behind the bridge resonance that makes Jazzmasters sound the way they do. It also has a Gibson style bridge and P90 style pickups. Cool guitar in its own right, but different than a traditional Jazzmaster.

Thanks for the heads up. I like the color on my Daphne so prob not worth it for me.

Noob question, any of these a good option for a teen who wants to learn how to play a guitar with zero experience?

Yes IMO. Anything cheaper like the monoprice ones you see here will have more QC issues

I second (third? fourth?) the JM JM. Such an amazing guitar for that price!

Check with them to see if they're more interested in acoustic or electric. More likely to stick with and enjoy the option that's more interesting to them. Just about everything listed is a good price. The electrics are all Classic Vibe, the higher level of Squier models (at lower level pricing), other than the Affinity Jaguar. The Jaguar is a shorter scale length though which may or may not be a good thing. Also, if they have any interest in harder rock or metal, the HSS Strat is probably the best option.

Was tempted by the telecaster bass, but I saw several reviews that it was sort of eh, so I think it's an easy pass. I bet that 70s jazz bass is a good get if you don't have one, I just don't need another jazz.
