Just like nonsensical comments like this do. First of all, the MSI Vector doesn't hold a candle to the Legion Pro 7 in terms of build quality, display, battery, and even ports. The Acer you are talking about comes with the gimped 5070 Ti whereas the Legion here has the higher wattage GPU. The battery is also significantly bigger in the LP7, 99Whr vs just 76Whr on the Acer. The other non-slim model of the Acer Neo 16 has a bigger 90Whr battery but comes with an IPS display, not OLED. LP7 is in a league of its own, and anyone who is not on a restricted budget would easily pick the LP7 among the Vector and Neo. Just because you saw '5070 Ti' on another random laptop's specs for less doesn't automatically make it a better deal.

How exactly is it better configured? It has a noticeably smaller battery (70Whr vs 99.9Whr), gimped 5070 Ti (115W VS 140W), slightly inferior build quality; if anything, it just has a more powerful processor (Intel Ultra 9 vs 7). Also, neither the new nor the refurb is available anymore for those prices.

The Legion 7i Pro is a top tier laptop with a great build quality. Yes, the Acer and MSI mentioned in this thread are a lot cheaper, but they can't match the build quality or the components used in this laptop.

I have the previous generation of this laptop with the 4090. I paid a lot more than this (obviously) but it's been the best laptop I've ever used.

You lost all credibility the moment you compared a Vector to a Legion.

Walmart has MSI Vector laptop with similar specs for $1299 (new but with 16GB of ram), and Acer frequently has some refurbished alternatives on eBay with 32GB and OLED display for roughly $1350

The Acer 16" Predator Helios Neo 16S AI Ultra 9 275HX 5070Ti 32GB RAM 1TB SSD was on sale new at Best Buy for $1499 or refurbished at Acer for $1271. Hard to get excited over this laptop configuration and price. I opted for the refurbished Acer and its terrific being better configured and $500 less.

Indeed. Nothing can touch Lenovo Legion 7 series build quality and thermals.

I personally got the Legion 7i non-Pro with 5070 - very impressive for such a thin & light laptop. Beats my Xbox series X at half the power consumption.

I undervolted the 5070 so it maxes out at about 80 watts under load, playing Khazan: The First Berserker at 4k max settings 120 fps with only ~40-50ms latency. Amazing game BTW

Just for purposes of comparison, this isn't a bad deal per se, but this model has an ultra 7 and 1tb of storage instead of the ultra 9 and 2tb's that both b&h and microcenter had for $1850 two weeks ago. That better model of the 7i pro hasn't fallen below $2k (microcenter) since then, but this deal isn't in the same league. Personally, I still think the omen with the 5080 (no oled though) for $1800 at microcenter is the best deal out there.

I had the same view until I ordered both (Legion and Acer Helios) and Legion is much much better.

Despite the specs, the Legion performs and feels like a tier higher.

Bought the acer predator for $1450 but don't plan to game heavily on it. Worth the extra $300+? I'm enjoying the predator and I got the screen down to 120hz so the battery isn't too bad.

Because some people know that the top of the line from MSI gaming is barely functional garbage with terrible parts and quality control, much less a low end Vector with a low power 5070 ti, mediocre screen etc.

If you can't tell the difference, cool go buy the MSI, but really before making posts like this, maybe ask yourself "Am I actually smarter than every other laptop buyer on slickdeals in aggregate, or is there something I don't know about this product line?"

Great deal, but not available for 1-2 months. Anyone have any idea what the actual wait time usually will be, or is it more likely to be cancelled before it ships?

Yeah ,MSI has the worst parts like ace magic.

Acer has cut corners to hit under 1500 with less cooling

Legion 7i and Asus G14 are heavy duty gamer grade
