Why the XT8 deal (2 pack for $151.89) may be better than the ET9 deal (2 pack for $99): XT8 is tri-band (2.4ghz/5ghz-1 for clients, 5ghz-2 for wireless backhaul). ET9 is tri-band (2.4ghz/5ghz for clients and 6ghz for clients and wireless backhaul). 5ghz band has more range than 6ghz. If the mesh nodes will be relatively far apart, 5ghz band for wireless backhaul will work better (stronger signal, better speed) than 6ghz band. The ET9 shares 6ghz band for clients and wireless backhaul, so if you have lots of 6ghz client traffic the wireless mesh will be a bit slower.

How to decide which to get: If the mesh nodes will be relatively close to each other OR you could use wired backhaul (connect them with ethernet), the ET9 is a good choice. Otherwise, if you must use wireless backhaul and the nodes will be relatively further apart (and you'd need to use wireless backhaul), the 5ghz band is better and the XT8 is the solid pick. Another bonus for the XT8 is the 2nd 5ghz band is reserved exclusively for wireless mesh traffic. Whereas on the ET9 the 6ghz mesh backhaul band is also shared with 6ghz clients.
