Community Reviews
This compact AROMA rice cooker is praised for simple, reliable everyday rice cooking and long service life, with multiple reports of it still working well after five to fifteen years and even handling travel. The included nonstick inner pot is a practical bonus, especially at this price, since replacement pots can cost nearly as much as the whole unit. The main caveats are that the 3 cup uncooked capacity may be optimistic and the power cord connection can become finicky over time. A small, durable pick if you want a basic cooker rather than a premium bowl material.
home cooks who want a small rice cooker they can keep running for years because one user says they've used this exact model for nearly 15 years and it's still "perfect."
people who travel with a rice cooker or need a reliable "grab-and-go" appliance because a user reports bringing it on work and leisure trips for years and then passing it to their son for a ranger job before buying another as a replacement.
buyers who are okay with a nonstick inner pot and want a spare because one commenter says $18 is a good deal since it includes the inner nonstick pot, and replacement inner pots can cost about as much as the whole cooker.
households cooking with the included rice measuring cups because a commenter explains that the "cup" for rice is a Japanese rice cup (~3/4 U.S. cup), so the cooker's capacity makes more sense when you measure rice the intended way.
shoppers who are trying to time a "best-ever" sale price because community members note the price has often been around $18-$25 and that it was tracked at $12 for months until about a week ago, so $17.99 may not be the standout low some expect.
people who specifically want a pure stainless-steel cooking bowl because one user says they wouldn't buy it again and wished they'd chosen a model with a "pure stainless steel bowl" instead of the inner pot material used here.
buyers expecting it to truly hold 3 cups of uncooked rice because one commenter says it nearly cooked to the top with only two cups of uncooked jasmine rice, implying the 3-cup (uncooked) capacity claim feels overstated.

Keepa says this has been $20 on AMZ all of 2025, except for $18 in July, and another drop to $18 on Dec 11th where it's been since. Also appears to be a 3 day period end of july where it dropped to $16.
