512GB is an insult in 2026.

Community Reviews

This HP Omen Max stands out as a high powered gaming laptop with an RTX 5070 Ti, Core Ultra 7 255HX, and a 140 watt GPU, and the configurable 64GB memory and Wi Fi 7 options make it more appealing as a desktop replacement. The stronger build and cooling are framed as a step above some competing gaming laptops, and the OLED upgrade is tempting if the price lands right. The main knocks are the 16 inch Full HD panel and the 512GB SSD, which feel undersized for the class. Deal pricing also proved unstable, with price changes and cancellations tied to a promotional error.

  • The laptop can be configured with up to 64GB DDR5 RAM, which helps with multitasking workloads.

    scubasasquatchcitan359

  • The configured options can include an OLED display and higher-capacity SSD, which may better match gaming and storage needs.

    scubasasquatchcitan359

  • The Wi‑Fi card can be upgraded from Intel Wi‑Fi 6E AX211 to Intel Wi‑Fi 7 BE200 for a small add-on.

    itank2

  • The deal math can reach the advertised target price when promo code NEWYEAR26 is applied with free shipping.

    citan359

  • HP orders can be cancelled due to a promotional error, and HP may refuse to honor the original price paid.

    jakelindcooidude0

  • Accessory-based discount stacking can fail, and some orders show higher base pricing than the advertised starting point.

    crittenscubasasquatch

  • The Full HD panel is described as a garbage panel, and Windows 11 may require replacement or switching to Linux.

    TPMJB

  • The 512GB SSD capacity is criticized as inadequate for 2026, which may force an upgrade sooner than expected.

pricing higher for me with a base laptop of 1465.19 (734.80 savings) instead of the 1200 price, think hp increased the prices or something within the last hr

It looks like they took off the additional 10% off for adding an accessory, for me at least.

Thanks for the input. I bought the one posted here based on your advice. Bumped up the RAM to 64gb, went with the faster 1TB SSD, Wifi 7 and decided to go with the OLED (it was like $80 more with all of the coupons bringing the price down, so I figured why not). All in, it was like ~$1500 before tax. I picked the cheapest gaming headset they had ($30) to get the 10% off with an accessory promotion to trigger.
The sweetspot is .
$500 for 4050 6gb
$600 for 5050 8gb
$600-800 for 4070 8gb
$1000-1200 for 5070 ti 12gb , 16gb
$1600 for 5080 16gb, 32gb

They didn't cancel the whole order, just the laptop. If you got an accessory to get the extra 10% OFF, that will still ship. This happened at least in my case.

Yup another typical HP "price mistake" which they never honor. I mean the 10% off accessory is OK but not the main deal...

Hoping it actually shipped for someone since it seems like both AMD/Intel models were cancelled.

Yep. They cancelled mine too, but my headset already got here. Cool. Love that.
