I have several 1080p monitors with hdmi/dvi and vga connectors, so it's handy at times.
It's also nice when you have two machines driving the some monitor; don't have to swap the cable between machines.

Not the biggest fan of displaylink but sometimes on older hardware its all that will work so this is a nice spare to have around getting an sd card reader makes it a decent purchase at this price
Does the monitor have a newer port (DVI/HDMI/DP) or just the VGA port? Is this a CRT?
issue is you need active converter cable for hdmi to dp. Sometimes even when the monitor has everything, something else is using the other ports if you use it for multiple machines.

Who still uses VGA monitor? I don't know anyone in my circle. Curious to see if any SD users use it. Not mocking anything here

last place that still had vga monitors was a 1U rack KVM at a datacenter. Other than that, it could be useful for an electronics hobbyist playing around with smaller displays.
Honestly, something like this is easy to pick up used for a couple bucks - this price is a bit much for 20 year old hardware.
