i was very excited to get this QBOMB12 & wasted my time painting it white to match my trunk/boot, cuz it's hard to find dual 12" vented/ported subwoofer enclosures of such minimal depth where most vented boxes are like 17+" D & take up half of my trunk/cargo space but this QBOMB12 has a depth (from front face where woofers mount, to the back where u typically find the speaker connections/posts/terminals but some boxes have connections on the side while few have them on top of box & even fewer on bottom) of 13.25" which is comparable to a lot of dual 12" sealed/non-ported boxes.
However in hindsight i've come to realize that ported boxes are (i won't even type "Best" here) ONLY suited for a specific subwoofer in a specific location of a specific vehicle facing a specific direction or any sub w/ same or extremely similar acoustic characteristics bound by same environmental/mounting parameter specs..
Sealed boxes offer infinite simplicity over ported as the amount of cone resistance is held relatively constant over the entire range of frequencies audible to man (relative as in non-linear where more watts @any freq encounters higher resistance/reflex @that freq..) but vented enclosures got ports tuned to/for specific applications where port diameter, length, and location/box placement (along w/ overall box volume) all narrow down the list of subs that would sound hard/loud in the ported box; like for ported, i'd either design a custom box to suit the box parameters defined by the sub maker in the Specs section of their owners manual or get a prefab box where the box includes the woofers, esp if box & subs are same maker as they've ENGR'd or tuned or optimized them to work together.
I tried this QBOMB12 box w/ all my 12s and amps but found that beyond the narrow range of frequencies that the port is tuned to (essentially a user-defined limit on the rate @ which air escapes the enclosure for any given freq), no amt of power or speaker wattage sounds good except a specific sub & amp cuz too many variables must align or u get fluttering (which shortens sub longevity & wastes electricity) or some other type of audible distortion like crackling or excessive echoing or otherwise compromised/sub-optimal cone excursion, frequency response range, sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio, Total Harmonic Distortion, suspension resonance.. although in that narrow range or particular frequency to which the port is tuned, i'm confident that any quality sub will punch 10x above its weight!
last thing i'll share abt this: save longer if u must but do spend the $150-ish USD for ea quality 12" woofer so ea can handle a root mean square (RMS) of at least 300 watts cuz unbeknownst to me, u can save a small fortune where 12" subs of 100-150 watts power handling RMS can be scored for half the price, inevitably they blow after 2-3 yrs irrespective of brand cuz they all gotta compete in every segment including cheap entry-level low-cost/low-quality.. but higher wattage subs sound deeper if ur amp not maxed and even @2x the cost, higher wattage subs last at least 10x longer than cheap starter ones that handle up to 150 watts; this is how i learned the true meaning of "too broke to buy cheap" but too bad it came too late when i'm too old and respected by too few for being too much of a basshead4life!

Tuned to 40hz, 3/4" MDF structure and the mounting face is 3/4" MDF. This is for people that don't know any better, it's a basic pre-fab that's tuned too high and will flex too much. If this is your budget you can do much worse, would be best in an SUV where it can reflect off the glass.

I enjoy a nice balanced sound today - even lowering the SUB / BASS at times when needed.
