I got an email about Beauty Day Giveaway at "selected stores" on 9//10 -9/12 10 AM to 4 PM
" Get a FREE sample bag featuring a coupon book and products from your favorite brands."

I got that email, too. Shockingly, I got a $10/$40 offer from Vons. It's a good week for it with the Pepsi deal.

is the Vons offer an online only one?
Those can be tricky. Be careful to specify substitutes b/c if there are OOS
-and you say no substitute, making the total fall below $40, you won't get the discount
-you don't specify, they'll give you another item like yours instead of the same price/sale so your total could skyrocket

I'm not a fan of Safeway/Albertson's pick up system, it's a minefield iMHO that I'll ONLY do if there's a good discount

Target is much better, if you fall below the threshold they prorate the discount and they don't automatically substitute.

It was an in-store one. I've used the $45/$75 pick-up one and it worked fine but I was just doing easy stuff.

FYI, the last few times I did an online order at Randalls (Safeway equivalent), I chose NO substitutes. Each time, my totals went below the threshold and I still got the discount. These were all recent orders (ie within the last 90 - 120 days).

In fact, the last time I specifically chose an item they said they had in stock that I had not found in stock on multiple trips into the store. Sure enough, they were out of that item. Since it was a $9.99 item and I included two in my order, my total went well below the threshold.

I have not found Randalls system to be different than Safeway, Vons or any of the other Albertsons subsidiary. Different ads, yes, but different system processing, no.

One thing I check the ads for these days, since I don't go in very often, are the gift card deals. I didn't see one in this week's ad, but maybe I missed it. Anyway, I went in today because I randomly got a $3/$12 and $2 from CVS. I saw there's a 'get $10 wyb certain $50 gift cards'. I picked up one that qualified, bought it first and used the $10 ecb with the $3/$12 and $2.

The deal is limit one per card per week, so I'll do it again next week.

If anyone ever sees that Amazon Gift Cards qualify, please post it here. I think it was in October last year that buying a $100 gift card, got you a $20 ecb, and at the time, Discover was giving 5% cash back at CVS. I bought a few because the promotion came around several times before Christmas. I'm hoping for the same deal this year.

Wow! I haven't been on this CVS site in several years. Is this what CVS deals have come down to? Glad I was part of the glory days. I was hoping to see if things picked back up. No, I see. Sad, sad, sad. They use to pay me to take things out of the store by the bag fulls. I guess we are not going back to that!?

I completely agree. One little bright point of light here. If you are looking for generic Tums tablets, CVS's store brand tastes much better than the Signature Care that Albertsons chains sell (Safeway, Shaws, Jewel, Randalls, Vons, etc.). Wish I could say good things about their plastic CVS bandaids, but those are not so great. Best to stick with the brand name or try another generic.

100% agree about the CVS bandaids especially if you're on a blood thinner. They'll pull your skin off.

I've had to use rubbing alcohol to remove fragments of the plastic ones that just didn't want to quit. Their store brand ibuprofen and chewable baby aspirin are fine. We get an OTC allotment from them every quarter with my health insurance benefit so I have been treated to a host of their store brand items. Their Glide equivalent dental floss is fine. Same with their Sensitive toothpaste. D3 Vitamins seem fine as do their other generic ones if all you require is the basics.

And, the small Total Home pocket pack facial tissues used to be great. They were made in the USA. Then they got cheap and had them made in China. They are smaller, less absorbent and stiffer than the prior ones and, of course, they've really jacked the price up. You can get Kleenex on sale at Target for less at a better quality. And I'd stay away from their digital oral thermometers. We got one that ended up in the trash as it basically quit working after a few uses.

I bought my yearly subscription on 12/5/25. I take it that I'll get my last $10 on November 6th or 7th. Is that when I need to cancel, or can I do it sooner?

Is this one of those horrible tangles to get out of?
