Parts wise this is not any better than the OG Legion Go right? No Oled, 16gb ram which means the apu will eat almost half for graphic intensive games?
It's worse... It basically has the same chipset as the STEAMDECK, mixed with windows and it's the worst performer

This is basically a STEAMDECK (it uses the same chip) with the original ALLY screen.... Not really worth the price imo

If you are already buying used get the original ALLY with a much more powerful Z1E and swap the battery with the JSAUX upgrade kit

Waaaaaaaay better value for money.... I have no idea why this model of ALLY even exists

Great OLED device. What do you recommend that people do that want to play games like Fortnite, etc? Get a Steam Deck? I have a Deck. This is just bad advice. People need to get devices that allow them to play the games that they want to play. Then they can figure out what screen, size, ergonomics, and OLED/IPS.
It's the other way around.

You buy the device and figure out what games you want to play on it.

I have a big free epic games catalogue, ubisoft, etc. If I $500+ I would want access to those. I understand a lot of people are ok with a 32 inch 2k monitor, I thought so until I got a 4k one. Different priorities.
I also have a gaming PC with a 42" 4K VRR OLED monitor I thought I was going to use but I find myself just playing on Steam Deck and OG Ally 99% of the time while PC is collecting dust. I used to like tinkering with windows since XP optimizing OS performance for gaming, but now I just want to turn the thing on and dont worry about updating drives, bios, etc. for 30+ minutes. Maybe just getting old lol

I've purchased multiple Steam Decks, 1 refurbed OLED and 2 brand new LCDs. The refurbished OLED arrived in literally the identical condition as a brand new Steam Deck LCD. I opened all of them to switch out the SSD, replace the backplates(with heatsink plate) and add a lot more thermal padding. The Steam Decks arrived completely wiped and cleaned, hardware and software included.

As an OG Legion Go owner:1. Zero issues with the device overheating. I dont see any comments on Reddit in the Legion Go forum2. I use the Legion Go 1 regularly. The fact that it is a tablet screen is irrelevant. What is relevant is the following: (a) it is a native portrait screen, on occasion you get a screen orientation issue (it is rare) and (b) the screen does not have VRR (in some cases devices like the Ally and Legion Go S will have better screen performance above 48 fps because VRR will kick in and smooth out "tearing" that can occur from frame rate inconsistencies. However, in practice the Ally Z2A isn't going to play anything above 48fps that will cause problems with Legion Go)3. The Ally Z2A wont come close to a Legion Go 1 in performance. It will surpass the Legion Go 1 in ergonomics and battery life.

Steam Deck sucks and can't hold a candle to a Legion Go 2 or a Ally X

I have this and an original Steam deck and I have to say this device is pretty terrible. I bought it as an upgrade to the deck, but I'm disappointed. I had to go on a trip and I left my steam deck at home because I really wanted to force myself to use this because I really want to like it. It's just not good. It forgot my fingerprint, Windows isn't optimized for the device, it didn't stay in sleep mode and just ran really hot in the carrying case and the battery was drained when I tried to use it. Steam games don't know about the device so I have to manually configure the controller even though they work out of the box on Steam deck. I might have liked it more if I never had a Steam deck but I will likely be returning mine.
