The import stuff these days is really, really good. Things aren't like they were when I started playing back in the early 2000s. You can buy a sub-$1000 guitar these days and have all the guitar you'll ever need.
When you buy a Core PRS guitar, you're paying for USA manufacturing, nicer materials, more consistent quality control, etc. But dimishing returns in terms of sound, playability, and build quality gets insane after about $1500.
If you just need a guitar that sounds good, looks good, and plays good, ain't nothing wrong with a PRS SE, Squier, Epiphone, or import Fender. I've played them all. Play what you like and can afford, don't let anyone make you feel bad about that.

I replaced the pickup trim to all black and put some all black locking tuners on it.
Its a player. That charcoal Pauls looks mighty nice.

Going for a Mayones Duvell so must focus.
Assuming you like the PRS style, of course.

They're Cort guitars, shaped like a PRS. The hardware, woods, fretwork, and pickups are all 2nd rate, as with all Cort budget guitars.
The Maryland made guitars are hideously garish. Hideously overpriced.
