Eddie Bauer clearance is strongest for steep apparel and gear discounts, especially on down outerwear, travel pants, medium tall shirts, and kids items. The sale can stack with free in store pickup, free returns when available, cashback, and occasional birthday codes, which helps offset shipping thresholds. The main drawbacks are the brand changes behind the scenes, with warranty coverage now described as much shorter and older lifetime promises no longer honored. Quality complaints also surface around jeans, hiking pants, T shirts, and overall fit, making this feel best for bargain hunters who know the current sizing and policies.
The deal can work out to $119 total for a 650-fill down coat and down parka during an after-Christmas sale with additional 50% off.
Free in-store pickup and free returns can be available when the item is ready for pickup near you.
Medium tall shirts can fit tall and skinny shoppers by providing long sleeves without bagginess.
A 10% PayPal cashback option can add extra savings on top of clearance pricing.
Recent pants and jeans reportedly start falling apart within about six months to two years of use.
Eddie Bauer lifetime warranty coverage reportedly ended after ownership changes, and warranty claims were refused for a backpack replacement.
Customer service reportedly limits returns, exchanges, and warranty coverage to 60 days from the purchase date.
Gift cards reportedly can be used only in-store and have a limited last day, which can restrict how the savings apply.

If you cant honor your warranty why offer it? Your comparison by using a burger didnt have some kind of guarantee. If a company says its a lifetime warranty you bet Im going to take advantage of it. Thats one of the reasons to buy it. If the company wont honor it, Im not going back.
You call it nit-picking, I call it keeping your word. Something most Americans know nothing about nowadays.

If I didn't like a burger yesterday, should I walk into your restaurant today and demand a free one, and repeat tomorrow? It sounds absurd because it is absurd. This kind of behavior is exactly why prices keep rising for everyone and why customer service keeps declining—legitimate customers end up treated like freeloaders and thieves because of situations like this.
I've never once asked for a replacement in my life, not even for electronics under warranty that I didn't bother to check. Meanwhile, some people want free clothes and backpacks forever. That's not fairness—that's exploitation.
If a business offers a replacement or lifetime policy without specifying caps, conditions, or exclusions, then multiple replacements are a predictable outcome, not customer abuse. Customers aren't exploiting the system—they're following the rules exactly as written.
If repeated replacements are unsustainable, the responsibility lies with the company to revise its policy (e.g., limit the number of replacements, require repair before replacement, exclude accidental damage, or define a service life). Many companies do this successfully.
Blaming customers after the fact for using an undefined policy is misplaced. Clear policies prevent abuse; vague ones invite it. Until those rules change, using the policy as written is neither immoral nor unfair—it's simply holding the company to its own terms.
