I'll be a devil's advocate and say this is a pretty decent deal just for parts.
cpu: Intel 285k - $500
gpu: RTX 5090 - $2500 (this is me being generous and splitting the difference, you will not find a 5090 at 2k and most likely it will be at 3k)
ram: Kingston FURY 64 GB DDR5-5600 MT - $600 (lol ram prices, this use to be $230)
psu: 1200 W 80 Plus Gold certified ATX power supply - $200
mobo: Hp proprietary board but market values is - $200
ssd: 2tb nvme - $300
case: HP Omen case - $100
total $4400
this is not the lowest price for this model. It got as low as 3500 @ microcenter in October.

Good luck finding a 5090 at all for $3000, they are all OOS. Amazon, B&H, Newegg, Microcenter, all sold out. Keep in mind the current situation, with rumors of Nvidia cutting down the supply of high end 50-series and the reality on the ground. Scalpers are already shooting for 4500+

And it will only go up from here. I was at Microcenter today and they are now limiting GPUs to 1 a month do to the pending shortages/production cuts.

That was my thinking when I posted it.

There is a front page deal right now for the OMEN that is pretty similar to your deals with the new year 2026 promo code + 10% off accessories for the custom build. I think I did the same spec as the pre-built OMEN 45L and it ended up being like $40 cheaper but the trade off is the estimated ship date is like some times in Feb and given the parts shortage right now it might be roll of the dice.
