My configuration FWIW:
16GB Soldered BUT also has one additional unused (open) memory slot - this should be the configuration for all Intel T4s (if you have the AMD I believe you do not have an open slot, and all memory for AMD would be soldered.
Backlit keyboard
Battery life is excellent (running PopOS) i5 intel - esitmating 6 hours with moderate use during the day. Also charges very quickly.
Now I can't speak for the quality of these refurbs, but I have been very impressed with this laptop. Linux compatibility is excellent as well. Happy to answer any additional questions.

One item with the T14 is that the Ctrl and Fn keys aren't where you might expect them (the Fn is at the bottom left corner, and most of the time with other computer keyboards that's where the Ctrl key is). If you're a touch typist, this will drive you absolutely crazy.
Fortunately, Lenovo has a BIOS setting where you can reverse these keys automagically. Very cool, but then you have to remember the labels on the keys are now reversed.
Why this is important is if you're going to test whether a refurb Lenovo has a backlit keyboard, and you hit Fn-Space (and if someone has set the BIOS to reverse those keys) the backlighting won't turn on, and you might think it doesn't have that feature (or it's not working). Take home message: test BOTH Fn-Space and Ctrl-Space when checking backlight keyboard functionality.
