Sony's WH 1000XM6 is landing as a strong noise canceling headphone deal, with standout ANC, clear sound, and especially solid bass and low end isolation for flying or other loud travel. The lighter build and long session comfort get praise in some cases, and the price is being called much better than recent Amazon or eBay offers. The main knocks are clamping force, top cushion comfort, and a few reports of hinge durability concerns carried over from older Sony models. A good fit if noise blocking matters more than plush comfort.
Common Questions (4)
They can feel very light, but several reports mention a hard clamp and limited top cushion, making them less comfortable than the XM4 and Bose QC Ultra 2 for long wear. A few users still found them comfortable over longer sessions.
The XM6 is reported to have excellent noise canceling, with especially strong low-end suppression, and sound quality with more bass oomph than AirPods Pro 3. It is also described as a solid upgrade from the XM4 for ANC-focused use.
The hinge is a recurring concern, with reports of XM5 hinges breaking after about 1.5 years or a few months of light use. One comment says Sony offers a $100 service for a new band, so a warranty may be worth considering if hinge failure worries you.
The deal was still live for at least some shoppers, with orders going through around $330 after tax. The promo code reportedly works, and switching browsers can fix an application issue.
