I don't fully understand the point of these. I understand a regular expresso machine. I understand an automatic expresso machine. I don't understand a machine that walks you through a manual expresso.

I think it's like a regular espresso machine with grinder built in, but the touch screen part adjusts ratio and temperature and time, or something like that. You can do much of that with a regular manual espresso machine but you need to understand a lot, this makes it easier and does the math for you.. At least that's my understanding.

I think also it's relevant to notice Breville makes I think 4 of these home espresso machines at different price levels with different features and they kind of own the market for them, De'Longhi has an answer for each of their products and that's what this is. An almost identical looking but cheaper attempt at catching some of that market.

Yes, and the coffee tastes about 15% better than a fully automatic, even when dialed in as closely as you can. Worth it to some...

All the dimes and quarters that Slickdealers have saved over the years, this is the time to cash those savings in! What does this thing do again?

I don't think you understand espresso considering you type it out as expresso and probably also verbally say it that way too 🤦

Grinder in this sucks. Get a Breville Barista or Bambino and a nice grinder like a Baratza. Or you could spend a little more for an E24 that can punch above its weight and last forever if cared for.

My sister has a fully automatic machine. Fill the beans, select the grind level, and it does most of the rest. It will weigh the milk/cream and froth it perfectly without any input. Cleans the inside of the steam wand at the end of the cycle. Trick. Price of entry is too high for me for all the automation.

I was taking a dump and I suppose my finger slipped. Your elite spelling skills undoubtedly impressed many people on the internet.

Which machine does your sister have? I'm looking to buy one this year but don't want to spend a whole lot of time learning about espresso lol

that's wonderful for your sister. It's $2k, though.
