Why is soda so expensive all of the sudden? Saw coke for $8.99 on sale at my local grocery store when you buy 3. I might have to give up soda.

Ok, boomer here - I remember buying 2-liters of RC for 19 cents in the late 70's. I'm stocked up at the moment, so will pass.

Good you shouldn't anyway there not good for you that's why I told the stores to raise the price so you would finally stop drinking them.

At the risk of getting political, one very likely reason is the rising price of aluminum for the cans, as a direct result of increased tariffs. This has been a major issue for the beverage industries.

Blast from the past! Still a bit too expensive for my budgeting. If only RC Cola undercut Pepsi and Coke when aluminum can prices rose and manufacturers sharply raised prices, they could have stolen some of the market share from them and become more relevant. It seems all brands of canned beverages & sparkling water decided to jump on the price hike train with COVID and prices never came down. It's a win for my household and we've cut back on purchasing soda and canned beverages drastically.

It's a shame there isn't a real sugar version of RC like there is for several others (Dr. Pepper, Coke, Pepsi, etc). As sodas go - RC tastes great
