This would have been a good deal at $700-$800 given that a new M4 Air with 24GB/512GB configuration costs $1,199 (and comes without a touch bar).
Never buying another device with Touch Bar. My existing one flickers like crazy and the only replacement can fix it, you can't turn it off unfortunately

I'm going to compare this to a MacBook Air 13" M4 24 GB / 1 TB, because it has been on month+ long sales for $100 more than this. So really what people want to know is if the "Pro" designation somehow makes this worth it.
Air: M4, 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 120GB/s memory bandwidth, includes hardware-accelerated ray tracing and AV1 decode.
Air supports 2x external displays (as opposed to 1x).
Air supports MagSafe 3 (no MagSafe on the M2 Pro).
Air supports WiFi 6E (instead of 6) and Bluetooth 5.3 (Vs. 5.0).
Air has a 12 MP camera (instead of 720p).
Pro: 3.0 lb
Air: 2.7 lb
But as discussed above, the biggest differentiator is none of that: The M2 Pro has the Touch Bar whereas the Air has 12 full-height F-keys; touch bar is a very divisive feature, and adds an extra thing that can fail (and is expensive to replace).
The spec sheet alone is damning for the M2 Pro at this price point that you'd be a fool to get it. I'd agree that $700-800 is a good price for this, because even $900 the amount of things you're giving up is a lot.

I searched Slickdeals and couldn't find any deals for this configuration for $1,200 recently. :-(

Links to those deals? I'm in the market for a MBA 24GB/1TB...

I'm thinking they meant 24GB/512GB. All common tiers have been on sale for $200 less at Best Buy and often other retailers. That model is 2 "upgrades" up in the Apple world so it goes from $800 to $1200.

The touch bar on mine just failed. Can't even trade it in now. The display actually died within 3 months of owning it and Apple had to replace the screen. What a pos.

Some Apple products they market as "Pro" even though there's nothing particular special about them.
The 13" MBP is one of those products. After Apple introduced the new 14" MBP in late 2021, they continued to sell the ancient 13" design as a cheaper entry. The Touch Bar was introduced back in late 2016 so the external design is basically unchanged since then.
Nobody should be buying one of these in 2026 unless it is absurdly cheap and that's all you could afford. One should also assume anything this old has diminished battery health and factor that into the price. (The battery cells are glued in and is thus expensive to replace.)
Finally, no idea how this can be offered with a 1 year Apple warranty. Technically it's possible if these have been sitting in a warehouse untouched for years. (Apple's consumer warranty begins at the point of sale to the end user.)

Apple's warranty normally begins when a user activates the device for the first time, not at point of sale, like when you see the activation screen it calls home. But if a device been sitting this long un-activated, you will need to call in and share a picture of the receipt after activation to reset the warranty. Ive done this many times.

Essentially the same thing.
My point was more that it's odd Woot is selling these with an Apple warranty. That's unusual for a lot of their offerings.

Otherwise, you'd better put your money towards something newer.
