The panels turned out to be 4K, but @.60 Hz (or 165 Hz @ 1440p). There is some logic to the panels that locked them down to 1440p as default.
You guys may get lucky with these being 4K (@ 60 Hz).

Maybe it's just preference, but I can't really tell the difference between the slightly improved contrast of VA over IPS compared to its better motion and viewing angles. VA has its place, but this price is a bit high.
