Getting the OEM Apple USB-C to Lightning cable is becoming more difficult and expensive. Getting this adapter and the lightning cable for $20 is also a good deal. Getting a few additional at $25 isn't bad either.

Yeah, it says "Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter - with Optional USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to Lightning Cable - 1M" but you have to pick one from the drop down menu to get a cable then the starting price goes from $14 to $25. Pretty meh deal for charger and no cables when you can get 2x 30w GaN with two cables for this much from time to time. Last time I ordered Apple chargers from woot, MagSafe and Apple USB-C chargers, they were all original Apple devices. At least with the MagSafe chargers you can plug them into a macOS devices to validate if it is legitimate or use your iPhone to check Settings > General > About > Apple MagSafe Charger (if legit).

That said, the deals on Anker power bricks and cables is the way to go since it's nearly half the cost and comes with cables instead of $25 for an Apple charger + cable.

how to tell genuine charger and cable apart from macOS since I don't own macOS? watching Youtube?

your order, does it come in 'bulk packaging'? or retail packaging?

For the Apple USB-C charger, I had to check a few reddit threads and the markings on the charger. The Apple USB-C to USB-C cables have super tiny writing on one of the ends at the base of the plastic. See this example
