About this Movie:
Before he created Westworld and Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton first blurred the line between science fiction and science fact with his breakout success The Andromeda Strain. Two years after the novel's publication, Robert Wise (The Haunting) directed the film adaptation, a nail-biting blend of clinically-realised docudrama and astonishing sci-fi visuals that ushered in a new subgenre: the "killer virus" biological thriller.
A government satellite crashes outside a small town in New Mexico - and within minutes, every inhabitant of the town is dead, except for a crying baby and an elderly derelict. The satellite and the two survivors are sent to Wildfire, a top-secret underground laboratory equipped with a nuclear self-destruct mechanism to prevent the spread of infection in case of an outbreak. Realizing that the satellite brought back a lethal organism from another world, a team of government scientists race against the clock to understand the extraterrestrial virus - codenamed "Andromeda" - before it can wipe out all life on the planet.
Aided by innovative visual effects by Douglas Trumbull (2001: A Space Odyssey, Silent Running) and an unforgettable avant-garde electronic music score by Gil Melle (The Sentinel), Wise's suspense classic still haunts to this day, and is presented here in a stunning, exclusive new restoration from the original negative.

That review says it's great. It's not perfect but the reviewer wrote, "The Andromeda Strain 4K Blu-ray delivers great video and audio in this excellent Blu-ray release."
Do you know of a better 4K release of it?

Yes it's great compared to the BR version.
That's not hard to do since the BR version wasn't that great either.
When it comes to what's possible, it's not that great.
Especially when the other half of a movie experience doesn't get an upgrade at all! https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Th...ray/31654/
widely praised as the definitive home video version, offering a stunning restoration with crisp details, vibrant (yet accurate) colors via Dolby Vision/HDR, and natural film grain, making its sterile, clinical aesthetic shine, though some older optical effects show limitations;the audio is a faithful, clear original mono, and the excellent bonus features from the previous Blu-ray are included in this must-have edition for fans.Thats from a another site and blu-ray said it's a very appealing 4k transfer For this release, Arrow Video has restored. This the review from High def digest :The Andromeda Strain from its original camera negative in 4K, and it was graded in Dolby Vision HDR. The results are fantastic. All the reviews I read are very good so what you basing your opinion on the price if it's to expensive then don't buy but don't mislead others.

I'm not telling anyone what to buy or mislead.
I used the site I'm most consistent with their reviews to point out the transfer.
Again if you read between the lines(ie your highlight of the audio), as you should always do.
Yes it's better than BR but by no means is it a reference transfer especially on the audio side.
For me I would not pay $19 for that PQ transfer & no AQ transfer.

I've read most of what Crichton wrote. At some point after this he made a conscious choice to write stores that would adapt well to movies or TV.
