This Centon 2.5 inch SATA III SSD is mainly appealing as a cheap game or laptop storage upgrade, with the 1TB version priced at $48 and the brand having old OEM roots. The strongest upside is the low cost for a standard SATA drive, and the 2TB version has already shown up for some orders with a 3 year warranty. The main drawback is fulfillment uncertainty, since confirmations have shown March or two month estimates, charges can post before shipping, and some orders have been canceled or delayed. A practical budget pick if the wait does not matter.

Common Questions (4)

  • It can show a March 2026 ETA or a roughly 2-month delivery window at checkout, but some orders have shipped within a few days and arrived in about 2-9 days. The long estimate appears to be a placeholder rather than a guaranteed wait, though some orders may still be canceled if the vendor never gets a real ship date.

  • It is a standard 2.5-inch SATA SSD that people are using as a laptop upgrade or game drive, and one received unit was reported to look good with a 3-year warranty. There are also complaints about reliability on Amazon, so it is better suited to low-risk storage like games or replaceable data than irreplaceable files.

  • The order can be charged immediately even when shipping is still weeks or months away. That creates a risk that the chargeback window could expire before the drive arrives, especially if the order sits in backorder status.

  • Yes, some orders with a March or out-of-stock estimate have arrived much sooner, including deliveries in about 2-3 days after shipment or around 9 days total. The posted ETA is not always the actual delivery date.

Came here to say it but OP said it already. But I'm sure this will be perfectly fine for non-critical data
The only drive that failed on me was an Intel SSD. Never again.

Mine still shows Processing with "Estimated Delivery by March 16, 2026"

2 month delivery window is insane. Hard drives are not wait 2 months expensive. -_-
Isn't failure rate bigger concern...

The OD Centon 2TB from 2 weeks ago still hasn't shipped even though charged credit card fully immediately, has an ETA of 2 months out. Don't hold out hope.
I've ordered 2 of the 2TB ones now. First said March, 2nd said out of stock, ship when ready. Both arrived in about 9 days out of nowhere.

Yeah that's kinda my concern. But then again, I think many of us use these for game drives (in my case anyway, this will be my 7th 2tb SSD shoved in my machine), so if it fails all that it means is I download my games again once a replacement comes. Big whoop.

Yes, I know.. 14TB of games installed.. of which I only play a handful... yes.. I do have problems. Send help.

How can they charge before shipping then you risk chargeback period ending before you get anything
Law says must ship within 30 days but that is only if they do NOT indicate a shipping date. They did during checkout and therefore they get away with it.

Many others like Amazon do not charge until they are ready to start the pulling and packing process

Ordered on January 19th and received today, January 25th. Memory and SSD drives are in short supply and are over 2x's the price they were before November 2025.

That's fair. I archive my games and store them for later...just wish I could get 20tb SSD for under $200 and call it a day.
